Envisioning a Solution

Answers not only to

"what if", but to "when".

For individuals living with intellectual and developmental
differences and those who care for them.

Intentional Collaborative Community Connection (IC3), started its momentum in the spring of 2023 with a few individuals and an idea to build a model community that would include a safe and engaging place for people living with intellectual and developmental differences to live, work, play, and achieve their full potential while participating in a true community way of life.

Our Mission
The mission of IC3 is to provide safe, affordable and inclusive housing solutions for individuals living with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
Our Vision
We envision a “neighborhood” where these individuals can live purposeful, fulfilled lives – surrounded by friends, supported by resources that genuinely meet their needs, and empower them to live as independently as possible. "A place to call their forever home.”

About us

What is IC3?

Intentional Collaborative Community Connection (IC3) is a group of individuals working to create safe, affordable, and inclusive housing communities where individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) can live independently. To ensure this vision reflects the real needs and hopes of families, we’ve created this venue to share your ideas and perspectives.

Intentional

Remaining thoughtful, focused and taking action towards the goal of designing a “neighborhood” specifically designed to reduce isolation and foster interdependent, integrated relationships, providing sustainable housing options and enhanced social opportunities, where people with IDD can live purposely and independently as possible.

Keeping clear intentions, planning and purposefully moving forward, even when tasks seem difficult.

Collaborative

Working effectively with professionals, support networks and community members, sharing ideas and perspectives, and combining efforts to achieve the desired outcome of a community that serves its residents, their families and caregivers.

A team-based approach of shared decision making where the individual with IDD and their quality of life is the focus.

Community

A neighborhood that offers opportunities for individuals to live, work, and socialize alongside everyone else, where people living with IDD live purposefully fulfilled lives surrounded by friends with the supports that genuinely meet their needs and allow them to live as independently as possible.

A community that offers opportunities to build practical life skills, foster social connections, and develop a sense of belonging and purpose.

Connection

Creating a “place” that facilitates the human need for individuals to form natural friendships, creating opportunities for them to feel productive and have a sense of ownership and self-esteem, a place where they feel valued for who they are and reduces the issue of isolation.

Creating environments that integrate individuals with IDD into community life which benefits society as a whole by incorporating the unique talents, creativity and knowledge of ALL people.

We welcome all feedback, suggestions, support and people to join us in making this the best possible outcome.
